1:00 pm - 4:00 pmSilver Springs Golf & Country Club, 1600 Varsity Estates Drive Northwest, Calgary

    Lionel Laroche

Managing Cultural Diversity in Technical Professions

Recruiting, Retaining and Promoting Culturally Different Employees Danger and Opportunity: Bridging Cultural Diversity for Competitive Advantage

    About Feel Foreign:

Feel Foreign is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Canada in 2015. Our purpose is to build bridges across cultures and communities and to improve intergroup dynamics. We do this by telling the stories of real people interacting with others from different backgrounds, addressing stereotypes and discussing differences in an entertaining way. We believe empathy is an important means to improve intergroup attitudes and relations, and that telling stories through video is an effective starting point toward building empathy. Our vision is for Feel Foreign to become the “go to” organization for an empathy‐driven approach to inclusion that helps break down barriers, reach across divisions, and forge understanding.

Additional information about Feel Foreign, including Feel Foreign “snippets” – short stories submitted by Feel Foreign followers – is available through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as the organization’s website, feelforeign.com.

3nd Annual Sino-Canadian Oil and Gas Symposium

    Innovation and Sustainability

    Organizers:

    Crisis and Opportunities

How quickly time has changed! The dramatic drop in oil prices has had profound impact on the energy industry. The uncertainty and fear continue to unfold as we speak. Many questions arise. What is the future for the Canadian Oil Sands and prospect of big foreign investments in the energy industry in Canada? How do we survive as a business or individual in the drastic down turn by becoming the fittest in the oil and gas “jungle”? What are the opportunities in the down cycle? There are many more questions and pressing issues the Canadian energy industry can ask and will face. Building on the success of the two previous symposiums, CCCA will join force with CPEAC and CCCC to host the 3rd Annual Sino – Canadian Oil and Gas Symposium. The topics of discussion include:

    • Experience in surviving the down cycles in commodity prices
    • Distressed asset, evaluation and transaction
    • Merger and acquisition due diligence
    • Well completion and production optimization
    • Future investment strategies and opportunities
    • Key tax, royalty and legal issues facing oil and gas investments
    • Cost challenges and solutions for sustainable development in oil sands
    • Outsourcing – a threat to more engineering and project jobs?

Come to join many of your peers to listen to industry veterans and professionals sharing their insight and experience. Learn new skills/knowledge that is useful to your work. This year’s symposium will offer more networking opportunities to meet with senior executives and staff from both the Chinese and Canadian oil and gas, EPC companies, service providers and research institutions.
